College Ruled Paper template specifications
College ruled paper leaves more room for notes than wide ruling. These templates use 7.1mm between horizontal lines, approximately 9/32 inch, with a red margin 31.75mm (1.25 inches) from the left edge. Choose US Letter for an 8.5 × 11 inch printer tray or A4 for a 210 × 297mm tray.
Print at the correct size
For a true-size college ruled printout, match A4 or Letter in the printer settings and keep scaling at 100%. Check that ten spaces between lines measure 71mm; measuring several rows makes small scaling errors easier to spot.
The PDF and SVG contain vector lines for sharp printing. PNG files are rendered at 150 DPI for document backgrounds; use the PDF when physical dimensions matter.

College ruled lined paper has closer rows than wide ruled paper. This template uses 7.1mm spacing, approximately 9/32 inch, for compact handwriting on A4 or US Letter sheets.

Choose 7.1mm ruling when your writing fits comfortably between the lines and you want more rows for lecture notes, a journal entry, or meeting records. Wide ruled paper uses 8.7mm spacing, giving each row about 23% more height for larger letters.
A blank page with a useful left margin
The red margin sits 31.75mm (1.25 inches) from the left edge. Keep assignment numbers, review marks, or follow-up notes there while writing in the main area. The PDF contains no preprinted subject headings, dates, or page numbers.
Print college ruled paper on the size you have
Download US Letter for 8.5 × 11 inch paper or A4 for 210 × 297mm paper. Select Actual Size or 100% in the print dialog. Fitting an A4 file onto Letter paper changes the line spacing, so use the matching download instead.

Is college ruled the same as narrow ruled paper?
