These A4 lined paper templates measure 210 × 297mm in portrait and 297 × 210mm in landscape. Both versions keep the same 8mm ruling, blue horizontal lines, and red left margin. Pick the orientation that fits your writing task before downloading.
Print at the correct size
Select A4 paper, match portrait or landscape, and turn off Fit to Page or automatic shrinking. To verify the 8mm ruling, measure ten spaces between lines: they should span 80mm. A file preview fitting the screen does not indicate its physical print scale.
The PDF and SVG contain vector lines for sharp printing. PNG files are rendered at 150 DPI for document backgrounds; use the PDF when physical dimensions matter.

Portrait or landscape A4?
Choose portrait for a familiar lined writing page: letters, school assignments, and everyday notes. Choose landscape lined paper when you need longer lines for a wide list or a worksheet response. Landscape measures 297 × 210mm and provides fewer writing rows.
A4 paper with lines and a red margin
The horizontal guides begin 12mm from each side. The red margin is 31.75mm from the left edge, leaving a separate space for numbers or annotations. This is a blank single-ruled sheet with no outer border, dotted midlines, or printed headings.
PDF for printing, PNG for a background
Use the A4 lined paper PDF when the printed 8mm spacing matters. The PNG is a 150 DPI lined paper image for documents or digital notes; inserting it at a different size changes the apparent spacing. The SVG keeps the lines editable in a vector application.
Check the paper tray before printing
A4 and US Letter are different sizes. Choose A4 in the print dialog and match the file’s orientation. If your printer holds 8.5 × 11 inch Letter paper, use a Letter template from the lined paper collection instead of shrinking this A4 page.

How do I print lines on blank A4 paper?
Download the portrait or landscape PDF above, load blank A4 sheets, and print at Actual Size or 100%. The file supplies the horizontal lines and red margin; you do not need to draw a ruling grid yourself.
Is this a full-page printable A4 ruled sheet?
It is a complete A4 page with a ruled area inside printer-friendly margins. The lines stop 12mm from the side edges and leave white space at the top and bottom. It is not an edge-to-edge or borderless layout.
Can I get A4 lined paper with darker lines or no margin?
