Why this grid works

The extra two rows help learners see that the same ones and tens patterns continue after 100. It is commonly useful for counting-on strategies, early addition and subtraction, and classroom routines that expect students to work through 120.

Three ways to use it

1. 01

   Count across 100

   Start below 100 and read forward until the sequence passes 100.

2. 02

   Addition jumps

   Model plus ten with vertical moves and plus one with horizontal moves.

3. 03

   Pattern extension

   Predict the final two rows before revealing or pointing to them.
