Why this grid works
Because the chart begins with 1, each row ends in a multiple of ten. Moving one cell right adds one; moving one row down adds ten. That predictable structure makes the chart especially useful when learners are connecting counting language to written numerals.
Three ways to use it
- 01
Skip-counting trails
Circle every second, fifth, or tenth number and compare the paths.
- 02
Ten more or ten less
Choose a number and move one row vertically to find the related value.
- 03
Mystery number clues
Cover one cell and describe it with row, column, odd/even, or place-value clues.
